15.000 in ESF march showed the heart of the forum

At least 15.000 joined the ESF march on Saturday the 20th of September. Participants, visitors and inhabitants of Malmö converged in a three hour long parade for another Europe and another world. All in all the forum program has been attended by over 13.000 participants from all over Europe. It has been a unique event in Scandinavia and a new step for the forum process. We thank all participants, volunteers, interpreters and people who has made this forum possible - and look forward to the next ESF in Istanbul in 2010, and the WSF in Belem 2009. Another Europe and another world would not be possible without you!

Final declaration of the Assembly of Social Movements - 2009 To change Europe

Here you find the final declaration of the Assembly of Social Movements (ASM), adopted on September 21st, the final day of the ESF. The ASM is a space for coordination between different social movements, making joint commitments and priorities for the year to come.

Focus on outcomes and new initiatives at the 2008 ESF!

The 2008 ESF has created a lot of exiting initiatives, from networking towards the Climate summit in Copenhagen 2009 to campaigns for labour rights, common welfare and a real social Europe. Please help us to make all these initiatives, proposals, calls for action, campaigns and outcomes visible!

Bring warm clothes - Weather will be cold!

You are warmly welcome to Malmö and the forum will surely warm you up. But the weather forcast for the forum days is not that warm: 12-15 ˚C daytime and 5-9 ˚C nighttime. So please remember to bring warm clothes!
