Interpretation / Babels
ESF call out for interpreters!
Interpretation is a crucial task for realising the forum, and to make the debate as diverse as possible. Everyone should have the possibility to take part and contribute to the discussion on global justice on equal terms, even if you speak a minority language or a non-colonial language.
Around 600 interpreters are needed during the ESF in Malmö. The interpretation will be arranged with the support of the Babels network that was formed in the preparations for the first ESF in Florens 2002, and now we are developing the nordic bransch of the network.
”We are working to give people a voice!”
Babels consists of volunteer interpreters and translators, a mix of activists, prfessional and non-professional interpreters who together want to show that another world is possible! The network has since it was formed beeb an important part of the global social forum-process. 13 000 interpreters are registered in the Babels network today.
Are you fluent in more than one language? We need your help!
To be an interpreter during the ESF is to take part in a great adventure where you make an important contribution to making the discussion possible, and meet interpreters from all over the world!
The volunteer interpreters will get free participation fee, food, accommodation and their travel costs payed.
