Final Call for European Social Forum in Malmö, September 17-21
The countdown for the European Social Forum in Malmö, September 17th - 21st, has begun. With one week left before the forum kicks off registration for participants – individuals, groups, organizations – is going on at full speed, and the finalized – and historically large – program is now available on the forum website www.esf2008.org/program.
It will be more than 250 seminars, workshops and assemblies, more than 400 cultural activities, film, music, theatre – and uncountable informal meetings, political activism, manifestations and demonstrations.
Actions and alliance building against privatizations of public services and the erosion of common welfare systems, against the attacks on trade union rights, for migrants’ rights, for climate justice and actions to combat the climate crises, to combat racism and the extreme right, against war and militarization, to build a real social Europe, for global justice, against neoliberalism and corporate driven globalization – all these are central issues in the program.
And the main aim for the 2008 ESF in Malmö is clear: To give birth to new initiatives, actions and strong alliances to build another Europe – and therefore another world.
