The network is an outcome. "Librarians for informational commons and another Europe" continues to build a European network of library and information specialists (LIS) in order to
* engage LIS in the social forum and its documentation
* campaign against the EU directive on public lending right
* watch and criticize corporate, governmental and EU policy on intellectual freedom
* defend and enlarge informational commons such as the public library service
