Labour and Globalization
Labour and Globalization
Labour and Globalization is a space of coordination and a network launched in the Nairobi WSF 2007 and then developed around the ESF. Many organizations - trade unions, social movements, associations, institutes of research - from all over the world are engaged in the initiative. Its main purposes are: to give more centrality and visibility to labour in the WSF process; to develop a permanent exchange of experiences, information and knowledge; to discuss a new and enlarged understanding of labour; to strengthen the alliances between unions, movements, intellectual forces and citizens; to help to find ways to go beyond defensive, isolated struggles and invent new transnational capacities for action and to find common global objectives for such actions; to confront the question of the meaning of production (what to produce, how, for whom).
