How can violation of trade union rights be handled and prevented?

How can trade unions cooperate with NGOs to prevent and act upon violations of trade union rights. Taking of from a description on how LO and LBAS works with trade union rights and with Amnesty describing how they work we should be able to come up with ideas on how trade unions and Amnesty can be better in cooperating and finding new ways to work to fight trade union and human rights.
