Combatting Racism: From Transatlantic Slavery to the Durban Review Conference

The World Conference Against Racism in Durban 2001 identified the roots of racism in the Trans-Atlantic Slavery which divided the world between rich and poor. In April 2009 the Durban Review Conference will be held in Geneva. The seminar will focus on the upsurge of racism and the global implementation of the Durban programme in preparation of the Review and ways civil society can be mobilized.
